Working in the Microelectronics Support Centre
As one of our team of experts, you will be working with the latest available tools from the top EDA vendors on modern deep, and ultra deep, sub-micron processes.
You will become a specialist in one (or more) of the following areas:
- Digital system design
- Analogue, RF, and mixed-signal IC design
- High-level design and system-on-a-chip (SoC & SoPC)
- Embedded systems (hardware/software co-design)
- ESL tools, methodologies and access to IP blocks
- Technology CAD (TCAD)
- Microsystems, MEMS and Microfluidics
- System-Level ASIC and FPGA design
- Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
- System-in-Package (SiP)
You will apply your in-depth technical knowledge supporting STFC's
in-house design teams to develop instrumentation to enable fundamental
science research, as well as providing varied technical support to
academics across Europe via the Europractice Project.
Alongside providing expert technical support, you will develop
example designs to validate design tool, process design kit, and
design flow interoperability. You will also work on the MSC's
technical training courses contributing material and delivering
training lectures and demonstrations to the academic community.
In order to provide this level of expertise to our users, you will
be given plenty of technical, industry-relevant training
opportunities, often placing you a step ahead of your peers in
industry.
Working in the Microelectronics Support Centre puts you in a unique
position working with tools from many of the leading EDA software
vendors across a variety of process technologies to support a wide
range of users with a diverse set of designs, and ultimately enabling
the next generation of Microelectronic engineers and playing a role in
securing the future of Microelectronics design in Europe.
